# AI assistant

The assistant is the chat panel of the **Model** workspace. It builds and edits the model from words and photos, and explains the app.

## Tasks

### How do I open and close it?
Press **AI** (a sparkle) in the top bar, at the right. It opens over the drawing, bottom right. Press **Close AI assistant** or Escape to close it; the conversation stays. The button is hidden while the sketch is open: leave the sketch first.

At 720 px wide or less, the label is hidden and the panel becomes a bottom sheet that opens at half height. Drag its header to a stop, or tap the grabber to collapse or reopen it. A fast downward flick from the collapsed bar, or Android Back, closes it.

### Can you download it for me?
No. It cannot press buttons, download, print, install the app, or see **Plan**, **Cut** and **Assemble**. Ask it for the path and for the labels.

### How do I send a photo?
Press **Attach images** (paperclip, under the field), or **Add a photo** in an empty chat. Paste or drop an image on the message box. Limit: 3 images per message, JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, 30 MB each; a larger image shrinks to a 2048 px long edge.

### How do I show which board I mean?
In **Model**, click a board in the 3D view, or pick **Select** (V) in the 2D view and click. **The assistant sees** above the field names the selection; **Clear the selection** removes it. Type the instruction and press **Send**. The selection goes with that message only, queued ones included. It also gets a note of boards you added, removed, moved or resized since its last look.

### How do I start again?
**New chat** in the panel header clears the conversation and its saved copy. It does not change the model. It is disabled while the assistant works or the chat is empty.

### Can I write while it works?
Type and press **Queue**. Up to 5 wait under **Queued instructions** and run after the current step. **Stop** ends the run, clears the queue, cancels its question and keeps applied changes.

### Why did it stop or fail?
- **Stop** was pressed: no error follows.
- 25 rounds were reached: press **Retry** or send a new instruction.
- A request passed 5 minutes: press **Retry**.
- The conversation is too long: start a **New chat**.

**Retry** shows under the last error only. It sends no new words.

### The daily limit is reached
It has one daily budget for all users, so it can end early. The error gives the local time it returns. Wait for that time; **Retry** does not help. A short "too many requests" error is a rate limit: wait, then press **Retry**.

### Is this chat saved? What is sent?
One conversation, in this browser only. A reload restores it; **New chat** or clearing site data deletes it. A reload during a run does not continue it; changes already applied stay.

Fabivo sends your message, the open model and your photos to the AI service only when you use the assistant. Fabivo keeps that text and photos for 30 days with a random browser identifier. A rating is kept with it, with no text and no IP address. Do not type personal data. Its own renders are not kept.

### Was the answer wrong?
Press **Helpful** or **Not helpful** under a turn's last answer. The verdict stays with the conversation.

## Facts

- One instruction: 8000 characters at most; an answer to its question: 500. The counter shows the limit; an over-limit send keeps your text.
- A question shows up to 4 options; the run waits for your answer.
- Renders and crops wait 20 seconds, then the run goes on without them.

## What the assistant does itself

- Reads sizes, gaps and openings from the model.
- Builds, edits and removes boards, one undo step per change.
- Counts sheets and lists unplaced boards.
- Zooms into a face of a photo.

Only you can press buttons, download, print, install and make the cut list.
