# Exports, print and files

Every export is built in the browser: report, drawing, CNC files, 3D model, images, project file.

## Tasks

### How do I download the plan to print or keep it?
1. Open **Plan** and press **Optimize**. Export needs a result.
2. Press **Menu** › **Export** › **Report / PDF**, or **Report / PDF** on the answer card.
3. Press **Print / Save PDF**, then "Save as PDF".

The report holds the drawing and hardware when the design has boards, plus the parts list with edge banding arrows, the numbered diagrams and the cut order. Red cut numbers start hidden: press **Show cut order**. There is no PDF writer; the browser prints the page, so allow pop-ups.

### How do I get a PDF with the measurements?
Right-click empty canvas in **3D model** or **2D plan**, then **Dimensioned drawing (PDF)**. It opens A4 landscape pages with front, right side and top views, dimensions and a parts table. Press **Print / Save PDF**. The model must have no error; the largest scale is 1:200.

### I need DXF files for the CNC
- **Part DXF (mm)** in **3D model** › **View**: one ZIP with a DXF for each different board (cutouts, holes, pockets) and a parts list. It needs no plan.
- **Nested DXF for CNC** in **Export**: one DXF for each sheet, at its true position.

Both are millimetres, R12 polylines, no text, no tool offset; kerf and lead-ins belong to the CAM. The nested file is at the cut size, allowance included. Excluded boards stay out.

### Can I open the model in SketchUp?
**3D model** › **View** › **Save 3D model (glTF)**. SketchUp 2024 and later open the `.glb`; 2023 needs an extension. One component: a group per module, a material per board material. There is no `.skp` export.

### How do I save a picture of the furniture?
- **3D model** › **View** › **Save image (PNG)**: the 3D view at screen size; a phone may show a share sheet.
- **Export** › **PNG Diagram** or **SVG Diagram**: one file with every sheet, its pieces and numbered cuts.
- **2D plan** has no image export.

### Which file do I keep to edit the design later?
**Menu** › **Download backup** saves `<project name>.cutlist.json` with the model, parts, sheets, plan result, cut and assembly progress. **Menu** › **Open file** opens it again in any browser or the installed app. DXF, GLB, PNG and PDF cannot be opened back.

### How do I print the assembly guide?
In **Assemble**, press **Print / Save PDF** in the header. The booklet has the method switch and **Print / Save PDF**. Each step names its fastener and count; a fold gives drill settings. **Hardware** below the step lists item, specification, quantity and parts. The guide refuses a model with an error, a collision or a loose board.

### How many cuts are there?
**Export** › **Cut list CSV** gives one line for each cut: index, sheet, from X, from Y, to X, to Y, length. It is the cut order, not the parts list.

## Facts

- Identical boards share one DXF file, `_x2`. A mitred board ends in `_bevel` and is cut from the drawing.
- The report and the drawing open as HTML pages with a print bar; the drawing is A4 landscape.
- Plan exports need a current result; a design changed after the last cut list is refused, a stale plan asks first.
- The nested DXF includes kerf and edge trim; the parts DXF is the finished size, in millimetres.

## What the assistant does itself

- Measure the model, list banded edges and hardware, and plan sheets with the sheet tool; that plan can differ from **Optimize**, which uses the user's stock and settings.
- Change the model before the next export.
- It cannot click, download, print, or see the **Plan** and **Assemble** screens; ask the user what the page shows.
