Fabivo documentation

These guides explain how to use every part of Fabivo: projects and files, the Model workspace, materials, the cut list, cutting, assembly, exports, hardware and the AI assistant. The assistant in the app reads the same text to answer your questions.

Guides

  • Projects and files: Save, open and back up projects: autosave in the browser, the .cutlist.json project file, CSV, shared plan links, the installed and Android app, units and language.
  • Model workspace: look, measure, correct: Use the Model workspace by hand: 2D and 3D views, the view cube, selection, the inspector, moving furniture, undo, hide and isolate, the ruler and the phone layout.
  • Building furniture by hand: Build without the assistant: templates, furniture by measurements, shelves, dividers, doors and drawers in an open space, the board tool, sketch, repeat and mirror.
  • Materials, colours, thickness and edge banding: Materials, colours, board thickness, sheet and solid wood, grain direction and edge banding: how they pass from the model to the cut list and where to check them.
  • Plan: cut list and sheets: The Plan workspace: make the cut list from the model, sheet sizes and stock, kerf and edge trim, grain, results, sheet count, cuts per sheet and parts that do not fit.
  • Cut and Assemble: The Cut workspace (cut-by-cut guide at the saw, marking cuts done) and the Assemble workspace (assembly steps, joining methods, drill settings and the hardware list).
  • Exports, print and files: Download, print and share: the PDF report, dimensioned drawings, DXF for CNC, GLB for SketchUp, images, CSV, and which file to keep to edit the design later.
  • Fronts and hardware: Doors, drawers and hardware: front gaps and overlays, drawer box sizes, drawer slides and hinges, lift-up, sliding and glass doors, and where the hardware list is.
  • AI assistant: The AI assistant panel: photos, sending and queueing messages, Stop, Retry, New chat, saved chats, selection, ratings, limits, privacy and what the assistant can do.

Markdown for AI agents

Every guide is also plain Markdown: add .md to its address, for example /docs/plan.md. The file /llms.txt lists all of them, so an AI agent can find and read the documentation without a browser.

The text is short and exact on purpose. It names each button with the label the app shows in English, and each guide ends with a table of the same labels in Spanish and Dutch, so you can follow it in the app language you use.

About these guides

Fabivo runs in your browser and keeps your projects on your device. You can design a piece of furniture by hand or with the AI assistant, make the cut list from the model, optimize it for the sheets you buy, follow the cuts at the saw and assemble with step-by-step pictures. The guides follow that order.

The guides describe the current app. When a guide and the app disagree, the app is right; please report the difference on GitHub.

Try it on your next build.Free, in the browser, no account. The assistant in the app reads these same pages.
